HUNGER HOUSING HEALTH EDUCATION
Grant Application Deadline Has Passed
This will be a one-year, one-time grant that will be awarded for a defined project related to one of our core focus areas. Grant applications will be accepted from February 15, 2025 until March 15, 2025 and applicants will be notified by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry no later than April 15, 2025.
Grant Selection Process
Colleton River Charitable Fund (CRCF) grants will be given to nonprofit charity organizations that embody CRCF core values as expressed in its Mission Statement which is to work with local nonprofit charities, who support our neighbors in need, with the tools and opportunities build a better future for themselves and their families. The vision of CRCF is to end the cycle generational poverty that ensnares families and individuals in the Low Country counties Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton and Hampton. CRCF was created to help individuals, children and families in Lowcountry area of Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties with specific basic needs projects focusing on Hunger, Health Housing and Education.
The Colleton River grant program is administered in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a not-for-profit 501(3)(c) organization.
All grant applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Applicant must have 501(c)(3) status.

Applicant requests must focus on the basic human needs of individuals, children, and families, including hunger, health, housing, and education.

Applicant must serve the geographic area of the 4 county Lowcountry area.

Applicant must be listed on the Foundation of the Low Country Giving Marketplace (contact Community Foundation at 843-681-9100).

Applicants must explain the goal(s) they wish to accomplish and the methods they intend to use. They must be prepared to measure outcomes and update the CRCF committee of their progress after 6 months and yearly report.

Grants are for a one year time frame

Endowment campaigns

Fundraising

What is the
Community Foundation of the Low Country?
Colleton River Charitable Fund is an agent for Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. A non profit foundation focusing on the poverty and the underprivileged.

They are our BANK — meaning all donations go directly to them, they distribute grant requests we approve.

No one with CRCF touches any cash, paper or electronic transactions.

They handle all administrative needs for CRCF — for that function they charge a 2.5% fee based on the corpus we have in the bank with them

Approximately 97% of all donations go to local non profit agencies.
