Colleton River Collegiate Golf Tournament Presents Record-Breaking Donation to the Colleton River Charitable Fund
BLUFFTON, SC — April 14, 2026 — The Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament today presented a record-breaking charitable donation to the Colleton River Charitable Fund (CRCF) during a ceremony held at the Nicklaus Club Lawn at the Colleton River Club.
The tournament, recognized as one of only three collegiate charity golf tournaments in the United States, continues to demonstrate the powerful impact of combining collegiate athletics with community philanthropy. It is a Championship with a Purpose!
The total donation—$75,000—represents the largest contribution in the event’s history.
“This event is about more than golf—it’s about making a lasting difference in our community,” said Tom Eagan, Chairman of the Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament. “Each year, we are proud to grow that impact, and this year’s gift reflects the generosity and commitment of everyone involved.”
The Colleton River Charitable Fund has now distributed nearly $2 million to nonprofit organizations across the Lowcountry, supporting critical initiatives focused on Hunger, Housing, Health, and Education.
The check presentation brought together representatives from the Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament, the Colleton River Charitable Fund, and Colleton River Club leadership to celebrate the continued success of this unique charitable partnership.

Smith, Mary Heitman, Jason Nortillo, Sean Hegarty, Kirstin Liberatore, Robin Liberatore, Susan Bishop, Tom Eagan, Jim Innocenzi, Willa Thiess, Sally Stevens, and Kevin Coughlin—presented a record-breaking donation on April 14, 2026, at Colleton River Club in Bluffton.

This is the largest donation ever made to CRCF and it illustrates the amazing commitment that the Collegiate Tournament has in partnering with CRCF to help support our neighbors in Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton and Hampton counties with housing, education, food, and healthcare. What an outstanding way to kick off CRCF 2025 Fundraising efforts with a bang!!!
